Howler Summer Trail Half Marathon
August 10 @ 9:00 am - 12:30 pm BST£25
Join us this Summer for the Inaugural Howlers Summer Trail Half…
Taking you on a journey over the stunning Holcombe Moors, all the way to the Grane Reservoirs!
Sat 10 Aug 2019 at 9am
Hare & Hounds Pub, Holcombe, BL0 9RY
Starting and ending at the Hare & Hounds Pub, we will have the BBQ firing and the bar open… And, a team ready to hand you your well earned Howlers Bling on your return!
The route quickly takes you up towards Peel Tower and then skirts left of the track, taking you over Harcles Hill and directly on to the ancient Pilgrims Cross site. From there you will continue on to the Rossendale Way until you reach Musbury heights offering you stunning views across the Grane Reservoirs. From here you will enjoy undulating terrain back towards Bull Hill and into the valley dropping back down to the finishline.
The Summer Trail Half is a 1 lap, marked course with marshals out for your safety. Of course this is a trail run and although marked, we always advise learning the route and we make it a compulsory to have either a GPX or map on race day as the fog can drop, the signage can be removed or you might simply miss a marker and head in the wrong direction.
As with all Howler events, we try and make it the best day and experience possible as well as offering recce runs of the route weeks in advance to make the event more enjoyable and social leading up to the day.
There is plenty of free parking in and around the area of the start line. Please be at the start line at 8.40am for a race brief.
